Overview
The Work Package Report gives you a complete, consolidated cost summary for each work package — all in one view. The left panel shows the WBS hierarchy, the WBS dictionary entry for the selected work package, and a cost summary broken down by resource type (labor, non-labor, travel, and contingency), both with and without contingency reserves.
The main panel shows your cost data time-phased across the project timeline, along with the full resource assignment details.
Prerequisites
- Select a project, WBS, and work package. The report does not load until all three are selected.
Reading the Report
Left Panel
The left panel shows:
- WBS hierarchy — your current position in the project structure
- WBS dictionary entry — the description and notebook fields for this work package
- Cost summary — total costs by resource type (labor, non-labor, travel) and contingency, with a row showing the total with and without reserves
Main Panel
The main panel shows time-phased cost data. Switch between yearly, quarterly, and monthly views using the time scale selector. Each resource assignment is listed with start and finish dates and the cost distribution across the selected time periods.
Navigating Work Packages
Use the Previous and Next navigation buttons to page through work packages in order. A counter shows your current position (e.g., “Work Package 3 of 47”).
The filter includes an option to Show Work Packages with No Costs. When turned off, the paginator skips work packages with no resource assignments.
Available Filters

Saved Views
The Work Package Report supports named saved views that preserve your column layout and filter settings. Use the view selector in the toolbar to save and reload your own named views.
